Tourists are very uneasy with China's recent practice, which is governed by a fairly strict regime.
Customs police in Xinjiang region are installing an app where incoming tourists can download their confidential information on their phones. The app, which is used to control Muslims in the region, uses facial recognition cameras to track streets and mosques.
This application is mostly installed by the police as a mandatory application. Those who resist face sanctions.
After the app is secretly installed on tourists ' phones, the phones are being returned, according to the guarantor. Of course, tourists don't know anything...
Academics and cybersecurity experts say Android and iPhone are being studied by different devices, according to the study. The app, called Feng cai, not only downloads confidential information but also tracks tourists. It is also loaded by tour guides or travel agents, apart from customs officers.
Tourists are quite complacent about this! They arrive at the thought that no specific areas remain, that the practice is used for touring because they cannot understand what works and what its logic is.
